Why the Pelvis Matters More Than Most People Realise

Many people live with daily aches, tension, fatigue and stiffness without ever considering that the body may simply be compensating for imbalance elsewhere.

One area I pay close attention to during treatment is the pelvis. The pelvis plays a major role in posture, balance and the way the body distributes weight and movement. When the muscles surrounding the pelvis become tight, weak or uneven, the body can begin to compensate in other areas and sometimes contributing to discomfort in the back, hips, shoulders, neck and knees.

You may notice:

  • One shoulder appearing higher than the other
  • Tension through the neck and upper back
  • Lower back or hip discomfort
  • Tightness or imbalance when walking
  • Stiffness through the knees or feet
  • General fatigue and muscular tension

The body is incredibly clever at adapting, but over time these compensations can leave us feeling tight, exhausted and out of balance.

During your appointment I use a combination of Kore Therapy assessment techniques, acupuncture and cupping to help identify areas of tension and support the body’s natural balance and recovery.

Your treatment may help:

  • Release muscular tension
  • Improve mobility and posture awareness
  • Support relaxation and stress relief
  • Ease aches and stiffness
  • Encourage overall wellbeing
