Over the 9+ years of my practice, I’ve supported many mums at all stages of motherhood — from those who have just given birth to those whose children are now adults. One of the most common patterns I see during Kore Therapy, postnatal treatments, and women’s health acupuncture is that the pelvis is often out of alignment. This may be linked to recent childbirth, long-term postural habits, old compensations, or simply the natural changes the body goes through over time.
Why the Pelvis Matters
The pelvis is known as the centre of gravity. When it becomes open or begins to tilt clockwise or anti-clockwise, it can affect how the rest of the body feels and functions. This may contribute to:
- A “C” or “S” shaped posture through the spine
- Lower, middle or upper back discomfort
- Shoulder or neck tension
- Headaches and migraines
- Low energy or chronic tiredness
- Emotional overwhelm, stress or anxiety during the postnatal period
- A sense that the body is out of balance
Many women search for support with postnatal back pain, pelvic alignment after childbirth, or pelvic pain postpartum, and these experiences are incredibly common — whether you’ve recently given birth or you’re many years postpartum.
How I Assess and Support Pelvic Alignment
During your treatment, I begin by checking the alignment of your hips and pelvis using a series of Kore Therapy tests. These gentle assessments help identify any imbalances or patterns your body may be holding — very common in postnatal recovery.
I then use simple release techniques to encourage better balance and comfort through your pelvis. Acupuncture is included to support tight muscles, tension and overall wellbeing, while Cupping Therapy helps create space along the spine, improve circulation and support the body’s natural recovery.
Afterwards, I re-check your alignment so you can see the difference. Many clients notice improvement after just one Kore Therapy session, as their body responds to the combination of techniques.
A Holistic, Whole-Body Approach
Acupuncture, Cupping and Kore Therapy work beautifully together. They support the whole body — not just the symptoms — helping you feel more balanced, aligned and grounded during your postpartum recovery or your long-term wellbeing journey.
