Infertility Treatments

Treatment to help with Infertility

My dedicated infertility treatments will include a combination of Acupuncture, Cupping and Kore Therapy.

Acupuncture helps to rebalance your energy flow and prime your body for fertility. It can boost female fertility by doing three key things:

  • Regulating hormone function
  • Increasing blood flow to the ovaries and uterus and helping to relax your muscles which can improve the chance of an embryo implanting.Tackling the causes of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) – a common cause of infertility
  • Generally helping to relieve stress and make you feel more relaxed

Kore Therapy looks at the whole body structure and makes sure your body is aligned, and then includes gentle release techniques to realign where needed. It is especially important to look at the pelvis when trying to get pregnant. How can your body hold a successful pregnancy when your pelvis is struggling to hold itself alone?! A long neck release will also be included to free any tension and stress.

Cupping is a lovely warm back massage which will help stimulate and wake up sleepy organs by encouraging energy and blood flow. It is particularly important to have all organs working to their best capability when trying for a baby. Cupping also helps with knots and tension in the shoulders and/or back and also helps to remove unwanted toxins from the body.

Acupuncture and trying naturally

You will need regular Acupuncture to assist with fertility. The most important times to have Acupuncture is during the follicular phase – day 5, 6, 7 or 8 of your menstrual cycle (day 1 being the first day of heavy flow), the day of, day before or day after ovulation and during implantation time (6 – 10 days after ovulation).
This works out to be approximately once a week expect when your menstruating, so most women should be receiving treatment roughly 3 times per month.

Acupuncture and IVF treatment

It is generally recommended to start proper nutrition, stress reduction and acupuncture treatments at least 3 months prior to the start of fertility treatment.

When you have the embryo transfer, you should have acupuncture before and afterwards, as close as possible to the transfer, without causing too much stress getting to and from the IVF clinic and to me.

When a woman takes the ovary stimulating drugs to grow multiple eggs, acupuncture treatment should be twice a week. This is necessary to help the ovaries grow multiple follicles.

I know that sometimes timing or finances can be a big factor in these decisions.. If you can only get acupuncture for the pre and post IVF time frame this would still be very supportive.

There is a lot of research showing acupuncture to be of help with relaxation, blood flow and stress reduction on the actual day of transfer. If this is the only option for you it is still something that can be of benefit to you, Ideally, it should be done as close to the actual transfer time as possible.
